Gar's Wedding

Gar & Chandi Wedding, Corona del Mar, California 2008

On September 6, 2008, Marguerite's son Gar (Crawford Gardner Jackson III) married Chandi Nerissa Neubauer in a beautiful garden wedding in Corona del Mar (Orange County), California. Gar and Chandi met through their work and "became an item" after Chandi moved from New York to Orange County in January of 2007. They moved together to a charming beach cottage in Corona del Mar in November of 2007 and were engaged around Easter of 2008.

Rehearsal at Sherman Library and Gardens

The wedding weekend started with the rehearsal at the wedding venue, Sherman Library and Gardens, on Friday afternoon followed by the rehearsal dinner at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club, a few miles away. Gar joined the Yacht club several years ago and Gar and Chandi both love to sail.

Margaritas on the Patio

The party started with margaritas on the patio where the wedding party, family, and close friends enjoyed both visiting and the sunset before moving inside for a buffet of fish tacos and all the fixins'. Marguerite and George hosted this affair, welcomed the guests, and a good time was had by all.

In this photo are Gus Bonaminio (George's brother-in-law), Marie Bonaminio (George's sister), Mother of the Groom, and Carol Archibald (California non-blood sister of Marguerite). In the background is Newport Beach harbor.

Marguerite and Sister

In this photo are Marguerite, Betsy McCaghren (Marguerite's sister), and Brent McCaghren (Marguerite's brother-in-law).

Marguerite's blood reletives attending the affair, mostly from Florida and Georgia, included: Marguerite (Marga) Guin (Marguerite's Aunt), Peggy Guin (Marga's daughter), Betsy & Brent McCaghren, Kirk McCaghren (Betsy's son #1), Neville (Betsy's son #3) and Dune McCaghren and their children, Anne and Lachlan, and representing Gar's Georgia relatives -- Joe (Gar's godfather) and Bettye Neville.

Marguerite, Pam & Norm Estabrook

On Saturday afternoon, guests were invited to enjoy sangria and visit while waiting for the ceremony to begin at 4:30. The minister for the wedding was Pam Estabrook, a very close friend of Gar's dad, Crawford, and the same person who married George and Marguerite several years ago! During the ceremony she remembered Crawford, Marguerite's mother, and other close family who had passed away.

Groomsmen

Gar's groomsmen, "three Scotts, Randy, and Rob" have been friends for years and Gar was in each of their weddings.

Chandi and her Parents

Both of Chandi's parents walked her down the aisle, and Pam recognized them and Marguerite during the ceremony.

Wedding Ceremony

Chandi and Gar were radiant and so very happy! The following pictures are testimony to their love and joy in this occasion.

Chandi's attendants were four close friends and a cousin.

Mr. & Mrs. Jackson

Chandi's parents hosted the reception and dinner following the wedding and welcomed the guests with a lovely tribute to the couple. Dinner was followed with lots of dancing to a DJ and toasts from family and friends. The garden setting was absolutely gorgeous and the weather was perfect!

Celebration in Westhampton Beach, New York

After the wedding weekend, the newlyweds headed eastward, stopping first in Martha's Vineyard for the wedding of close friends, then going on to Paris for a glorious week in the world's most romantic city! On September 20, east coast friends and family celebrated with Gar and Chandi at an afternoon cake and champagne reception at Chandi's parents' home in Westhampton Beach, Long Island, New York. Marguerite and her sister Betsy also attended and stayed with Neville and Dune McCaghren (Betsy's son/wife and two children) who have a family home in the same town (small world!)
